The newport liquor store has quickly become one of my favorite stops along my shopping route. I love their wide selection of wine, liquors, cocktails, beers, and wine by the glass.
When I stopped in at the newport liquor store in San Francisco in mid-June, I was pleasantly surprised that the store’s owner, Mike Jones, actually remembered me. I hadn’t seen him in about two years, but I was excited to see him again. I had just been to his wine shop in New Orleans, but it was his first time we’d met.

Newport is a great little town with an established wine culture and more than a dozen great wineries. As you wander its streets you will see the signs for wine and spirits shops everywhere. The local liquor store seems to be the place to find the best bottles of wine and liquors while also stocking up on some really great gifts for the holidays.
When I first visited Rhode Island back in 2007, I thought this place was the perfect place to find a great bottle of wine to take back to France or Spain. But as I’ve found over the years, that’s not the case. The best bottles of wine and liquors are found in the best places. The association is made up of a number of stores, including the Newport Liquor store.
